About Retrix

Born out of a passion for technology, cars, and making parts that are no longer available possible again.

We combine 3D scanning, CAD, reverse engineering, and production to redesign, improve, and make parts available again.

Where it all began

My name is Thomas de Ridder, founder of Retrix.

Retrix was born from a passion for technology, cars, and solving problems where others stop.

It started at home, tinkering with classic cars like a Rover P6 and later several Volvos, including my own Volvo 164. I quickly encountered something that many enthusiasts recognize: parts that are simply no longer available.

What began as a practical solution with 3D printing grew into something bigger. Parts were remade, modified, and improved so that cars could continue to run.

After years of development and many projects for others, it became clear that this is more than a hobby. It is exactly what Retrix stands for: bringing back parts that would otherwise be lost.

From hobby to Retrix

In the beginning, the focus was mainly on 3D printing. Now we look beyond a single production method.

With Retrix, we want to truly make parts possible again. This means that for each part, we consider function, fit, material, finish, quantities, and the right production technique.

Sometimes 3D printing is the best solution. Sometimes another technique is smarter. The goal always remains the same: to create a part that fits, functions, and is practically usable.

We believe in honest advice, smart solutions, and simply delivering good work.

How we work

Practical, honest, and focused on a component that really works.

Practical

No unnecessary complexity. We look for solutions that are feasible, affordable, and applicable.

Goal-oriented

We think from the problem and the application. The end goal is a component that fits, functions, and can be used.

Made with passion

Retrix originated from hobby and technology, but has grown into a serious approach for parts that are no longer available.

For enthusiasts and businesses

We help private customers with parts for cars, motorcycles, and hobby projects, but also businesses with prototypes, small series, and parts for which no current drawings are available.

Think of plastic covers, fasteners, interior parts, technical components, obsolete parts, and custom solutions.

In addition, we can support with 3D scanning, CAD, reverse engineering, prototyping, production, and printing or personalization.

What makes Retrix different?

We don't just look at making a part, but at the whole application.

Does it need to be strong? Does it need to be finished neatly? Is the part visible? Is there heat, load, UV, or wear?

Based on that, we choose an approach that fits your project.

Community projects

Some parts are too expensive to redevelop for one person.

With community projects, we consolidate demand. If multiple people need the same part, we can share the development costs, making production more feasible for everyone.

This way, we make parts possible that would likely never be made again.

When does this fit?

Especially for classic car parts, specific plastic parts, interior parts, or technical parts that likely have more interest from people.

We gather interest, develop the part, and keep interested parties updated on the progress.

Do you have something that is no longer available?

There's a good chance we can help. Send photos, dimensions, and a brief explanation of the problem. Then we'll see what is technically and practically possible.
